It is an age of trials and turmoils! Things are happening that we never imagined, could happen. We, who were to rise to the status of best of nations, have become worst of communities. Nobody talks of Deen (belief system) in Pakistan. All and sundry debate sects continuously. Our people pay respect to rizq (sustenance) but disobey the Raziq (Sustainer). We glorify the worships and consider the worshiped unimportant! We pray all rak’ats of prayers, hurriedly and miss out the meanings. We do not even supplicate, which is the brain and soul of prayers. How many salats we have prayed in our life time that are worth presenting to Allah Almighty? Hardly one! We try to avoid paying zakat and seek exceptions which are not allowed by Islam. The Maulvis (clerics) sell fatawa to the highest bidder. Taking investments from people is habit of some tablighis and mostly such investments end up in total loss to the investor. A Muhaddith of slavery era has compiled a book (Fadaile Aaamaal) of weak hadiths that glorifies various zikrs and worships and turn believers in to labors. Can’t we pray in gratefulness to our Rabb, who has done so many favors to us, without asking? No tablighi will say salam to you although prophet (SAW) had directed us to spread salam to known and unknown people. If Muslims concentrate upon hadiths, who will read the Quran ? Christians or Jews? The tablighis consider themselves very pious, although a pious Muslim is the well wisher of ummah and would pave the way for coming of Imam Mehdi Just as John the Baptist paved the way of hazrat Isa (AS). Since no prophet will come now, it was the job of learned scholars to prepare way for coming of hazrat Imam Mehdi. Since powerful nations are his enemies, Imam Mehdi cannot come out in the open.
Jamaate Islami has allowed Islami Jamiate Tulba to fight and beat their enemies and they freely beat people. But when it comes to shameless and vulgar movies and dances of the media that adversely affect the morals of our sisters and daughters, they fail to take any step. Jamaate Islami makes tall claims of million marches but when time of confrontation comes, they conveniently disappear from the scene. When the Lal Masjid was about to be attacked, Qazi Saheb went to London to meet Nawaz Sharif leaving the masjid and madarsa undefended. Iqbal has described this sort of behavior in the verse:
” When the time of standing up came, these ignorant ones fell into prostration. “
Similarly, Jamate Islami failed to press for return of Dr. Aafia Siddiqui when murderer Raymond Davis was being sent back unharmed to the USA. Even old women can weep in their homes, but who will come out like men to defend the daughters of the Ummah? Jammat leadership accepts directions from army and ISI and its rank and file accept it without protest. As messenger Muhammad (SAW) has prophesied, 999 out of 1000 people in the last age will be hell bound. This hypocrisy is common these days. There is so much sectarian, regional and linguistic hate in the masses that large scale killings seem just round the corner. Dr Iqbal was so worried that he warned us clearly:
“Your wings are loaded with dust of race and color
Spread out your wings, O bird of haram, to cleanse
of the dust.”
Deobandis are by far the largest sect and their imams get millions of captive audience on Fridays. But they hardly ever use the opportunity to teach Islamic morals and condemning bribes and lack of application to duty. They only talk about beard and length of shalwar!
Pray who will pave the way for coming of Imam Mehdi ? He is already here, but cannot come out as his powerful enemies are after his life.
